About the Journal

Pax et Justitia: International Journal of Humanitarian Law & Human Rights is an international scholarly journal dedicated to critical, conceptual, and empirical studies in the fields of International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Law. The journal aims to serve as an academic forum for the development of legal thought grounded in the values of peace (pax) and justice (justitia) in addressing contemporary global humanitarian challenges, both in situations of armed conflict and in times of peace. The journal publishes original research articles, theoretical and doctrinal analyses, comparative legal studies, and policy-oriented research examining the implementation, enforcement, and evolution of norms within International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and International Human Rights Law (IHRL) at national, regional, and international levels. Topics covered include the protection of civilians, the law of armed conflict, international crimes, international criminal justice, transitional justice, the protection of vulnerable groups, and the intersection between humanitarian law and human rights law. Pax et Justitia promotes an interdisciplinary approach while maintaining legal analysis as its primary framework and encourages dialogue among scholars, legal practitioners, policymakers, and humanitarian actors. All submissions undergo a rigorous peer-review process and are published with a strong commitment to academic integrity, scholarly independence, and the advancement of the rule of law and universal humanitarian values.
